Baked cod is a very quick and simple healthy fish dish to prepare. You can eat baked cod on its own, with additions such as olive oil, mustard, or various sauces, or as part of a meal with rice, potatoes, fries, salads, etc. Cod is a source of high-quality protein, which almost matches the composition found in meat, but is more easily absorbed. Cod is also a rich source of vitamin D3, selenium, vitamin B12, phosphorus, vitamin A and omega-3 fatty acids. Another significant advantage of this fish is its low calorie content. Cod has exceptionally lean and delicate meat. Baking, alongside steaming and traditional boiling, is the most desirable cooking method for this fish. During frying, there can be significant losses of omega-3 fatty acids, so it is better not to prepare cod this way.
