Tortilla with red lentil and tofu paste is a simple and quick-to-prepare dish made with a tortilla.
I prepared this some time ago using leftover products I had to use up. I had one tortilla wrap, some tofu, and some lentils left. I immediately thought of using the tortilla as an alternative to bread, and the lentils and tofu as a nutritious, protein-rich „mix” in the form of a paste. It turned out to be a really delicious and valuable meal, and additionally, it was incredibly easy and enjoyable to prepare.
Red lentils are rich in protein, fiber, iron and folic acid, supporting digestive health and adding energy. Tofu, made from soy milk, provides protein, calcium and iron, as well as isoflavones, which may help reduce the risk of heart diseases and cancers. Together they make an excellent combination for a healthy diet.

Ingredients for tortilla with red lentil and tofu paste:
- Tortilla 1 wrap (62 g)
- Red lentil and tofu paste
- Red lentils 6 tablespoons (60 g)
- Tofu 1/4 package (50 g)
- Garlic 1 clove (5 g)
- Salt
- Turmeric
- Curry
- Chilli
- Smoked sweet paprika
Preparation of tortilla with red lentil and tofu paste:
Step 1: Prepare the paste: Cook the lentils (check the recipe). In a blender container, place the cooked lentils (which should be dense in consistency – if necessary, drain off the water), crumbled tofu, and peeled and pressed garlic. Season with salt, turmeric, curry, chilli, and smoked sweet paprika. Blend until smooth.
Step 2: Heat a dry pan over medium heat. Place the tortilla wrap on the hot pan and heat for about 1 minute. Then flip it and heat for another minute.
Step 3: Transfer the heated wrap to a cutting board, evenly spread the prepared paste over it, and cut into 4 parts (vertically and horizontally). Fold the parts with the paste towards the center.
Step 4: Transfer to a plate. Eat warm or cold.
