Pizza with mozzarella and tomato sauce is a classic dish that, in its dietary version, shows that healthy eating can be just as tasty and satisfying. Making pizza at home is not only great fun, but also an excellent opportunity to have full control over what and how much we eat.
Mozzarella, a key ingredient of this pizza, is a light and delicate cheese that melts perfectly on the dough, creating the ideal consistency and flavor. It is also a source of protein and calcium, making it a great choice for those who care about a healthy diet.
Yellow cheese, added in moderate amounts, enriches the flavor of the pizza while providing additional protein and calcium. Its distinctive taste perfectly complements the delicacy of mozzarella and the richness of the tomato sauce.
Flour, used for the dough, can be replaced with whole wheat flour in the dietary version, which is richer in fiber and nutrients than traditional white flour. This makes pizza a healthier option while maintaining its classic properties.
Homemade pizza with mozzarella and tomato sauce is a great option for those who want to enjoy the taste of their favorite dish without giving up the principles of healthy eating. Step 3: Leave the kneaded dough in the bowl and cover it lightly with greased cling film or a cloth. Set the dough aside to rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, e.g., in an oven preheated to 35°C (put it in the turned-off oven). Towards the end of the dough’s rising, prepare the remaining ingredients.

Step 6: Line a baking tray with baking paper. Once the dough has risen, remove it from the bowl, knead a few times and shape it according to preference into a thin or thick base. Transfer to the tray. A thick base should be left in a warm place for 15-20 minutes to rise again after shaping. A thin base can be prepared immediately. Preheat the oven to 220°C. Spread the prepared tomato sauce on the shaped base and evenly distribute the cheeses on top. Bake in the oven for 8-20 minutes, depending on the thickness of the base. Be careful not to burn the pizza. Remove when the cheese is melted and the dough is lightly browned.
