Tortilla nachos are very quick and easy to prepare. They can be enjoyed alone, with your favorite sauces, or as an addition to various dishes such as soups or salads. In my opinion, they taste great in every version.
Nachos can be prepared in different flavors by choosing a set of spices and herbs, such as cayenne pepper, hot paprika, coriander, oregano, or curry.
For making nachos, it’s best to use corn tortillas, but wheat or whole wheat ones can also be used (they will then taste more like crackers).
Nachos can be stored for a few days in an airtight container to limit moisture access.

Ingredients for baked tortilla nachos:

  • Tortilla (wrap) 1 piece (62 g)
  • Olive oil 1 teaspoon (5 g)
  • Salt
  • Herbal pepper
  • Basil
  • Chilli
  • Smoked sweet paprika

Step 1: In a bowl, place the olive oil and a pinch of each seasoning: salt, herbal pepper, basil, chilli, and smoked sweet paprika. Mix thoroughly.

Step 2: Lay the tortilla flat on a cutting board. Evenly spread the prepared spice mix on it. Cut the tortilla into triangles: divide it into 16 triangular pieces or cut it in half and then each half again in half, and then each strip into small triangles. Arrange the triangles on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving a small gap between each. Place in an oven preheated to 180°C (356°F) and bake until lightly browned, about 8-12 minutes. Be careful not to over-brown the nachos.

Step 3: Remove from the oven as soon as they brown. The nachos should harden and become crisp a few minutes after removing from the oven. Store in an airtight container.
