Finely chop the dates, place them in a small bowl, and cover with boiling water. Adjust the amount of water so that all the dates are submerged. Leave them for a few minutes, then rinse and drain the excess water using a sieve.
Drain the beans from the liquid and rinse under running water.
Preheat the oven to 180°C. In a blender container, place the beans, dates, egg, cocoa, sweetener, a pinch of salt, and a bit of water (1-2 tablespoons or more if the mixture is very thick). Blend until smooth and uniform.
Transfer the mixture to a small baking dish lined with parchment paper or lightly greased. Smooth the top. Place in the preheated oven and bake for about 25-35 minutes. The finished cake will be slightly cracked on top and baked on the outside, with a moist center. Remove from the oven and let cool.
Enjoy warm or cold.
